I'm wondering if your build settings altered the default build location for the file. Have you searched for your executable in all your sub-folders starting from your project folder as the root?
This sounds like you're running the IDE as a non-administrator, but have the project folder configured in a place like Program Files where a non-administrator does not have write access. This causes the folder to be virtualized, which means it's really not where you think it should be. Check to see where your project is being saved and built.

I am having the same problem. It seems to be caused by the Insider Preview build I tried downgrading, however OneDrive promptly updated itself after a few restarts and vanished.
This is a huge issue for me as I need OneDrive synchronizing for my school work, and the online versions is simply not good enough and often causes errors, or is simply too inconvenient to use. A quick, temporary solution I have found is by copying OneDrive. It isn't permanent, but at least it works for now I tried the same thing, but a day or two later, onedrive disappeared again.
I completely uninstalled and then downloaded the latest version of onedrive from the web was version that ended in It happened again. I will have to see whether mine does too. Possibly run a repair on office? See if that does anything?
